'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues clash with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the dramatic final moments of his team's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The encounter wrapped up with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear amid the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range shot from distance, and his teammate promptly hammered in the deflection before sprinting toward the East Stand to celebrate, with fans mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory completed an extraordinary recovery given Swansea had been behind 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. During the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and Josh Key and I were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win booked a upcoming fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's volley from about way out going in via the bar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that distance," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right defensive wing after they changed shape. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way his former team approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Physically they are exceptional but even the basics and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they know how to dictate and neutralize a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be switched on throughout of the game. It demands a tough attitude and attention just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a popular figure across multiple campaigns at Leyton Orient and has quickly replicated that in south Wales. At his previous team he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford, before he departed Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a bit naive going into senior level. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without much intensity. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that maturation for both domestically and internationally, shining for his national side, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the recent fixtures, including both legs fixtures against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's previous international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Starting Out

It has been a remarkable path for the player from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside the capital, who used to see his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

The player's single match for the Red Devils came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a extended travel and it was cold out there," he recalls, grinning. "The preceding week, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "This turned out fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I realized I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm extremely thankful for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I felt I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

New Environment

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a small coach driven by club employees, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to spend time with the guys but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. His teammate is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on London's Central line after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
